Help A PR Pro Out

The past week has been a whirlwind as employers, jobseekers, and industry professionals have stepped up to join the Help A PR Pro Out movement.  A clear call to action was offered by Arik Hanson in his initial post:

• Jobseekers should prepare a creative blog post for prospective employers and share it via Twitter during the event using the hashtag  #HAPPO
• Employers can share job openings with a team of dedicated regional champions
• All those in the PR industry can participate by sharing #HAPPO tweets with personal networks and lending support to those looking for a job.

Still members of the PR community have raised their hand and asked us, “What else can I do?” It is extremely gratifying to see the dedication to our industry and the commitment to help make a difference. So here are a few tips on “How to #HAPPO”… all retweetable J

How to #HAPPO Tip 4: Support those seeking jobs. Subscribe to their blogs. Follow them. And welcome them into your community!

How to #HAPPO Tip 3: Ask. Not for you, but for a friend. Look at postings & consider whether anyone in your network is a match

How to #HAPPO Tip 2: Looking for a job? You’re not alone. If a position is not the right match for you, pass the lead along!

How to #HAPPO Tip 1: Reach out – Find a job seeker to feature on your blog 2/19 If you’re searching get creative w/ those posts!
